There are four principles taught on THE RANCH to help students understand what it takes to be a success in life. These principals include the following: D = Desire or how bad you really want
something. If a person wants something bad enough, there isn't very much
that will stop him or her from getting it. This includes anything from
getting an education to earning I = Inner Strength. On the way to achieving a goal, things may get rough. Students are asked; "when things get tough in life, do you get tougher or do you walk away from the challenge and just quit?" F = Focus or concentration. Students are taught an old Chinese saying when it comes to focus. The saying goes like this... "A man who tries to catch 2 rabbits at the same time People who don't stay focused when trying to accomplish
their goals in life S = Self Control. Self Control means the MIND is able to control the BODY. When the mind controls the body, you’re called a “Man.” When the BODY controls the MIND, you’re still a child. To be successful in school or on the mission, ones mind must control the body. As stated earlier, students must demonstrate that they know how to put these principals into practice in school before they can move on from one session to another in training for the mission.
